Image result for Final year student allegedly tied to her bed, locked up and burnt to death by her jealous boyfriend.A final year student has died after she was allegedly tied to her bed by her jealous boyfriend, locked in her room and set ablaze in Uganda.

Immaculate Kembabazi had just completed her Bachelors in Business Administration, BBA at Makerere University Business school (MUBs) and was due to graduate in January with honours – it’s quite tragic to see that her dreams have been burnt in flames of jealousy.
Neighbours and colleagues on Friday morning, found Kembazi burnt in her rented room in Bugolobi, a city suburb. Her hands tied with ropes and several marks on her body suggesting a spirited fight, she would later give up before her tormentor tied her, set her on fire and locked the room to condemn her to a long lonely painful death.

According to the deceased’s sister who preferred anonymity, Kembabazi’s life could have been ended by her estranged boyfriend, one Solomon who has been complaining about Kembabazi’s behavior of bringing friends to her room.

It is this that could have given birth to pangs of jealousy that prompted Solomon to hatch a death plan for Kembabazi.
However, other witnesses interviewed claim that, the deceased had refused to move in with her boyfriend who has been paying her tuition, a move that prompted action from him.
Immaculate’s lifeless body would later be taken to Mulago Hospital for inspection.

Muslim Students Rejoice As Lagos Govt Approves Use Of Hijab In Schools
The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, Lagos State Area Unit has commended the Lagos State Government for upholding the rule of law through its approval of the use of hijab in public schools.

This was contained in a press statement by the Amir (president) of the MSSN Lagos, Saheed Ashafa (Ph.D), to react to a circular recently issued by the Lagos State Government granting the use of hijab in schools.
The circular conveyed the government’s approval “of the outcome recommendations of the panel on the use of Hijab” and urged compliance.
According to Ashafa, the circular would help to stop harassment and victimisation of female Muslim students for wearing hijab.
He recalled that despite the Appeal Court judgement, female Muslim students were punished and denied entrance into classrooms for putting on the hijab.
By issuing the circular, Ashafa said the Lagos State Government has towed the path of honour and deserved to be praised for such.
He said: “We extol this gesture and the resoluteness of the state government in ensuring that an avoidable strife do not find ways into the peaceful atmosphere being enjoyed in Lagos State.
“We are pleased with this development because the embarrassing way and manner that our members are being victimised, harassed, punished and denied entrance into their classrooms for wearing hijab would stop.
“We have constantly told the state government that while a case on the hijab is awaiting final verdict at the Supreme Court, no teacher has the right to punish female pupils for wearing hijab. The Appeal Court in the case clearly states that wearing hijab by students, whether within or outside the school premises was a fundamental Human Right entrenched in the constitution.
“It is important to notify you that we will not allow further lawlessness and flagrant disregard for rule of law to stay after this circular. The circular would also help to stop the abuse of rights which could have degenerated into crisis or violence that may lead to the disruption of activities in schools in our dear state.
“We commend this intervention aimed at calling teachers, principals and tutor general to order. This circular approving wearing of hijab by students on their school uniform within and outside school premises, will ensure peace and order in our schools and stability in the state’s education system.”
Ashafa subsequently encouraged female Muslim students to be confident, smart and neat while putting on the hijab.
“We hereby call on female muslim students to enjoy their rights without fear of molestation. While exhibiting their rights, they should remain law abiding and be good ambassadors of the religion of peace,” he added.
He congratulated Muslims in the state and islamic organisations for ensuring that Muslims are not denied their rights
The circular read in part: “Since the case of the use of Hijab in Lagos State is still pending in the Supreme court of Nigeria, status quo be maintained, to avoid contempt of the court, that is students be allowed to wear Hijabs on school uniforms but same must be short, smart, neat and in the same colour of the uniform (skirt).
“Furthermore, schools management are advised to downplay comments and disciplinary actions on the use of smart Hijabs until the final determination of the case by Supreme Court.
“No student should be discriminated against in any form on the basis of religion.
“All principals and teachers must be sensitized to comply accordingly. You are enjoined to adhere strictly to these recommendations.”

129 inmates of the Enugu Maximum Security Prison of the Nigeria Prison Service (NPS) will sit for the National Examination Council (NECO) November/December examination.
The NPS Public Relations Officer in Enugu, Chukwuemeka Monday, made this disclosure in a statement issued in Enugu yesterday.

Mr Monday said the Deputy Controller of Prison, Ibrahim Usman, confirmed that the number was the highest since inception of the prison centre for the examination.

Afeez Oyetoro, popularly known as Saka, is best known for his hilarious roles in some Nollywood movies. He is also an advertiser’s delight.
In fact, the memory of his role in a 2013 MTN advert, which was the subject of a prolonged debate around the country, still remains fresh in the minds of many Nigerians.
An actor best known for his extraordinary gift of clowning, Oyetoro has appeared in several films, including Wedding Party and Ojukokoro.
Yet, unknown to many of his fans, he is as much a hardworking and committed academic who teaches drama at the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Ijanikin in Lagos State, as he is a talented comic actor.
Although he was aware that most people wished that he would give up one for the other, the actor, who only just finished his tenure as the Head of the Department of Theatre Arts at the institution, said, in an interview with a Punch correspondent, that he had no plan to quit teaching for a full-blown career in film acting.
He said, “There is little or no difference between teaching and acting. I enjoy doing both. When you teach in the classroom, you are officially disseminating information. It is almost the same thing as what an actor does on stage or in a film. An actor entertains and at the same time, passes a message to his audience.
“My work as a teacher of theatre arts enhances my practical methodology. When I go outside the classroom to act in a movie or on stage, I gain additional experience and bring back it to the classroom. Such experience enhances my teaching methodology.”
Asked if his superiors at AOCOED ever had cause to complain about his repeated absence from the classroom, Oyetoro said he had been fortunate to work under a management team that gave its employees enough room for self-development.
“The management of the college of education where I work is a progressive one that encourages the members of its staff to go out and develop themselves.  The management will not complain as long as whatever we do does not interfere with the academic work. That is why most of the time I do all the things I do outside the classroom during the holidays or at the weekend. So, if I go outside the institution and come back, I am adding value to what I teach in the classroom.”
“I spend my time judiciously, even outside the classroom. When I am not teaching, especially during my annual leave or the holidays, it is either I am relaxing abroad or I am busy on location somewhere,” he said.
Having paid his dues in the entertainment industry, the actor expressed the desire to start something worthwhile on his own.  “I have been making some moves for some time now. I am currently working on a television drama series and a movie. I hope to get them ready by the first quarter of 2019. I hope there will be enough support. But, whatever be the case, they will be released next year.”
In addition to the works in progress, Saka, in a rare collaboration with fellow lecturers and students of the Theatre Arts department at AOCOED, has concluded the recording of two full-blown programmes for TV.
