The police in Borno state has arrested one Musa Faisal in connection with the acid attack on his 26-year old girlfriend, Fatima Usman, a final year student of Department of Nursing, University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) who was attacked with corrosive fluid by suspected tricycle operators in Maiduguri on March 16th.

The state commissioner of Police (CP), Damian Chukwu, made the disclosure while briefing newsmen in Maiduguri yesterday March 29th. The police boss said the suspect, Musa Faisal, was arrested by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Kano. He explained that the police had also arrested one Muhammad Babangida, who conspired with Faisal and attacked the girl
The commissioner said investigations showed that the suspect and the victim dated for over four years and that when he asked for her hand in marriage, her parents refused.
”Our findings indicated that the girl and the suspect had been meeting in secret for a long period of time. On the day of the attack, she arranged to meet the suspect at a hotel in Galadima area of Maiduguri and while they were inside a room, his accomplice, Muhammad Banbangida joined them. Babangida was the one who poured acid on Usman and in the process, some of the liquid spilled over to Faisal. It is also established that the suspect vowed to deal with the girl since her family resented their union.”
Chukwu said that the suspects had admitted committing the offence, adding that they would soon be charged to court.

A 26-year-old British lady who was ‘tired of waiting for the right man’ has sold her virginity for a whopping €1.2m ($1,482,528).
Jasmin, a resident of London, received the final offer of $1,482,528 from a Hollywood actor earlier this week.
She made headlines a year ago after she listed herself on Cinderella Escorts seeking to sell her virginity to raise millions to start her own business instead of giving it away for free.

The offer from the actor was the highest after he outbid two other ‘contenders,’ including a footballer.
Jasmin, who did not reveal her last name, claimed to have gone for dinner with all three bidders beforehand and called the experience ‘amazing.’
She said,
“My parents supported me from the beginning. They know everything and agree.“I am 26 and they know that I am adult enough for deciding alone what I do with my body. As I met the actor already and I was always a big fan of (his), I am more nervous as a fan than about losing my virginity. But who knows. Maybe I will get more nervous when we meet in the hotel.“I would never have dreamed to get that high price for my auction (sic.) But as more, I am amazed by who [bought] my auction. It is so amazing!
“I really respect ladies who are traditional and want to wait for sex after marriage. I was one of them. I really wanted to wait for the right one. But I don’t want to wait any longer. So, I chose another way which will make me happy. I am sure about my decision.
“Traditional views regarding virginity are so outdated. I believe that it’s my choice what I do with my body and I am sick and tired of waiting for the right person to come along.
“After 26 years, I still haven’t found him; so, I decided a positive alternative would be selling my virginity.”

Image result for 300 Level Student Kills Girlfriend For Refusing To Abort Pregnancy22- year- old Ringim Ismail, a 300-level student of Jigawa State College of Islamic and Legal Studies, has been arrested for allegedly slitting the throat of his girlfriend, Salamatu Garba, 22, for refusing to terminate a pregnancy she had for him out of wedlock.
Ismail said he was in a relationship with the 22-year-old for over eight years with a view to consummating the relationship into marriage.
According to him, they made an unsuccessful attempt to abort the pregnancy when it was three-month- old, adding that the deceased however refused his pressure to attempt the abortion again two months later.
He said he therefore decided to eliminate her and anything that had to do with her and the pregnancy.
The suspect said on Saturday, he took Salamatu on a motorcycle to the outskirts of the town, around 9pm, used a jack knife to slit her throat and left her in a pool of her blood after she had collapsed.
“I took her to the outskirt of the town at around 9 p.m. on a motorcycle that I borrowed from a friend. I snuffed life out her after I slit her throat with a jack knife. She was four months pregnant for me and I decided to kill her for refusing to agree to an abortion.”
The suspect exonerated his friends whom he earlier mentioned as colluding in the killing. He said, “I killed her alone, none of my friends followed me.”
Police spokesperson in Jigawa State, Abdu Jinjiri, said the suspect will be charged to court to face the wrath of the law.
